Providence plug
A perfect fit and secure plug
Providence's original NP series phone plugs are made in Japan, with both the plug body and shell machined from brass.* It is a handcrafted product, with many steps in the manufacturing process requiring manual labor.
The plug shaft is φ6.3mm. There is little variation between products, and it fits perfectly into the inch-sized (1/4 inch) jacks used on most instruments such as guitars, making it difficult to fall out, and the large number of contact points between the plug and jack has a positive effect on sound quality.
*Note) NP-19 and NP-19L (used with LE501 and LM701) are made in China.
Features of Providence original plug NP series :
One-piece straight plug
The 2-pole (TS) straight type has a structure that penetrates from the tip through the sleeve to the first pole of the lug, making it strong and providing the advantage of efficiently transmitting electrical signals, which has a positive effect on sound quality.
Special angled L-shaped plug
The special 91° angle L-shaped plug is a Providence-original structure (utility model patented). The subtle 91° angle ensures a subtle space between the shell (the part of the plug you hold in your hand) and the effector or other device to hold the shell, making it easier to apply force more perpendicularly, reducing the strain on the jack and plug when inserting or removing the plug. It also makes it easier to connect to devices with angled jacks and chassis, such as trapezoidal jacks found on wah pedals.
Plug shells affect sound quality
The shell (the part of the plug that you hold in your hand) also has a big impact on the sound. Elements such as length, outer diameter, thickness, weight, and plating affect the sound. Generally, the design of the shell tends to be the only thing that gets noticed, but Providence, which designs its own shells and has made many prototypes during product development, can tell you this.
Wide variety of options:
Providence offers a lineup of original PH=2-pole (TS) type and 3PH=3-pole (TRS) type phone plugs and RCA plugs for the Premium Link series and Platinum Link series. In addition, the 2-pole (TS) phone plugs are available in straight and L-type. Each is available in 24-karat gold-plated and nickel-plated types.
*3PH and RCA are only available in 24K gold-plated type *NP-21/ and NP-21L (for V206 Silverbullet and V206a) are only available in nickel-plated type
Plug shells for a variety of applications:
The PH type is available in many different sizes to suit the various situations in which it is used. We offer the Long, Mid, Short and Mini sizes to make the weight as light as possible while prioritizing sound quality.
●For guitar (bass) cables, the S/S (straight/straight) type has a long shell on one side that is easy to insert and remove even with a Stratocaster's boat-shaped jack, and a slightly shorter mid shell on the amp/effects side. The S/L (straight/L-shaped) type has a combination of an L-shaped mid shell and a straight long shell that is easy to use with a side jack and doesn't get in the way. The L/L (L-shaped/L-shaped) type has an L-shaped mid shell on both ends.
For patch cables, the P203 model, which prioritizes high sound quality, is paired with a Short shell. For the V206 model, which is designed to save space and reduce weight, and has a patented function to prevent problems caused by loosening, we have prepared a Mini shell, which is one of the smallest soldered products in the world.
The solderless version allows you to easily create cables of your desired length using the needle on the rear of the plug. and the two screws on the plug shell ( utility model patented ) tighten the cable. and pass the signal through. By tightening these two screws, the plug can be Problems common with conventional products, such as the cable coming loose, have been solved. It is designed to prevent this from happening.
